Welcome! If you are looking for a teacher to help you learn the French horn or develop your musical style and abilities, I would be happy to teach you.
Why French horn? Well, you’ve probably already noticed the horn is unlike any other instrument in terms of the beauty and magic of its sound - with its soaring high range and rich low range. This sound can only be unlocked through practice, motivation, lessons, and performance. If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a hornist and a teacher it is the importance of keeping the music fun. Why hire me? Over the years, I’ve cultivated my teaching style to meet the needs of each and every student’s learning styles. Not everyone learns by the same approach. With each lesson, I look for that spark or that potential for curiosity in the student as they are playing or listening to me play. Whether a student has that rare, raw talent or must work hard to make music, I look for various ways to foster each student’s love of the horn. Yes, it’s true the horn is a difficult instrument to learn. But I believe there’s room for all students to become better musicians and find places to have their music melt ears and hearts in the world. What can you expect? As a teacher, I see my role as twofold: To provide technical instruction and to encourage students to keep tapping their creative powers, especially when their excitement for playing wears thin. I believe music comes alive not only in the joy or perfection, but in the struggle and the doubt. It is here where the musician plays from the heart. The best of music is located in our desire to be, most of all, compassionate artists and engaged citizens of the world. Whatever your age, skill level, or aspiration, I’m here to help. Let’s have fun and make music! Please go to my contact page to schedule a lesson, or send inquiries directly to me at cstinchi33[at]gmail[dot]com. |
